50th Anniversary ART Conference -2025 - Newsletter Special Edition

Dear Fellow ART peers

Apologies in advance for a long message.

It was a great conference last week with lots of networking bunch of first timers and lots of same (g)old faces 😊

Many thanks to the Conference organisers including Peter Jones, the outgoing Chair Roger Moore and all other committee members who were behind this successful 50th Anniversary ART conference. It was lovely to see the strengthened ART family at the ‘Golden Jubilee’ conference this year.

I'm sure those who attended would agree that we had variety of insightful presentation’s this year and great applauds to all the presenters. To me personally, Andy Mosson's 'ART history of the trailblazers' presentation was the highlight for this year as he took us all back to 1973 when Renal Techs (by then) across country had come up to meet nationally for the first time ever (supported by DHSS- Department of Health and DHSS until 1974 meeting) which eventually led the foundation of ART organisation in 1975.  

This legacy carried on, meeting annually ever since and despite missing few years (due to various reasons), now our ART family are in 2025 and showcased a very successful 50th Annual Conference at Telford Hotel. This is a stupendous achievement that we backbenchers in NHS / Renal industry should be greatly proud of with our incredible contribution to save dialysis patients lives across country.

To not miss the golden opportunity, all the ART members who attended the conference had voluntarily come forward to take up a group picture in front of the hotel that will now go on to our ART’s SPECIAL EDITION NEWSLETTER.  I’m sure everyone in the picture will be happy if this to be used for the newsletter including use in social media with a *disclaimer that no individual consent was obtained for to be used.

ART family also took another picture with non- ART members and our industry colleagues which I’m sure the same disclaimer would go if these to be used for  above said reasons.

Lastly, can I kindly request our fellow ART members to share any memories/articles etc. that would go well with Special Edition Newsletter to come forward and share this with us. Please email myself @[e-mail] or Roger Moore at [e-mail] for any queries.
