Anyone else catch it the other night with their home dialysis conversion?

You can still get it on iPlayer if you missed it.

It's caused a "bit of a talking point" on one of our units because the patient on the show criticized in-centre dialysis saying that life expectancy is only around 10 years and if she could go home it was as good as a transplant.

There were quite a few wtf moments.

All I would say is that the programme is a drama, not a medical documentary !

Hi Chris,
I think we all know that but for me it painted such an awful picture of life on hospital based dialysis that must have hundreds if not thousands of pre-dialysis patients watching living in dread of dialysing and built up an un-realistic expectation of home conversion.
I was expecting to see an Nx-stage based system in place given the patients explanation of the advantages low efficiency treatment,is she on nocturnal ?
Was also a little disappointed not to get another free advert after the amazing one we had on the One Show at the Bristol NHS B&T Plasmapheresis Unit
