FMC 5008S air in BiBag alarms

fraser gilmour
I'm getting increased reports of this alarm mid treatment again, we only use at home so it could be happening more than is reported. Patients would give the bag a shake or replace and just put up with it. Anyone else getting reports of this? FMC  previously blamed bad batches of bag filters getting compacted and the bicarb pump deairating.

Hi Fraser,
We too had this a few years ago, only with one (possibly two) home patients.
The suggested cause from Fresenius is certainly more plausible than most of the stuff we tried to remedy it.
It did sort itself out with a different batch of BiBags. We initially took older BiBags from the unit to the patient to ensure the batches were sufficiently different ages.
