What Chairs for Home HD

Chris Eaton
Can I ask what chairs everyone is using for Home HD?

I am aware some don't supply chairs, and that those used aren't CE marked as DX chairs but if its that or nothing I'll take that

We had been using Kintyre, 2 motor recliners but they are currently out of production due to supply issues with motors.
anyone have any viable alternatives?

P.s. removable arms are probably a necessity to get through bedroom doors and round winding houses

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,
I hope you don't mind me replying directly.

We've got a fairly new addition to our Digiterm range the C3 ECO which was designed to our UK Home HD specification a sort of motorised Champion which can be dismantled really easily and quickly in order to get upstairs to bedrooms and through narrow doors.
It has 3 motors as standard allowing Trendelenburg position with an optional 4th up/down motor if height adjustment to reach the machine screen is required.
They are being used in Leicester,Derby,York,Heartlands, Royal Free and more recently Kent and Canterbury for Home HD, and also in St.James ,Glasgow and Nottingham Queens for Paediatrics .

These like all of our chairs are registered with the MHRA and available to purchase via the NHS Supply Chain Furniture Framework in a specific section for Medical Devices which is now a legal requirement for any therapy treatment rather than just furniture.

If you don't need motorisation we still have the Champion 85's which have Swingaway arms which can be removed in just a few minutes with 2 bolts. These too are MHRA Registered as Medical Devices.

Please let Jon or Georgina know if you would like to either have a quick look at one or organise a trial.

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Our HHD equipment is supplied by FMC through the NHSSC therapy cost framework. We don't take the the chair though as it was rejected by our clinical team as the armrest holding the arm in a vertical position when reclining is not ideal and we felt the minimal cushioning wasn't great for the length of time seated.
We use the Digiterm C3 Eco and Flex models. The flex is our default, but the Eco can be used for certain circumstances.
We remove the arms and cushion, then recline flat to make it easier for our delivery team.
hope all is well
Fraser
