What Conductivity Meter?

Any recommendations, thoughts, ideas, comments?
we currently use IBP and have a 90DX from times of yore, reasonably happy with the IBP apart from CAL costs

Hi Chris,
Just to clarify we are no longer able to supply MESA 90XL meters due to a new UK Distributor Agreement Clause dispute we were advised not to sign and as a result were summarily sacked as their UK Distributor after over 20 years faithful service.
We have looked for a substitute but to date haven't found anything to beat IBP so effectively they seem to have a monopoly.

Tis true what Chris said though - they seem to be getting the monopoly on it now...

Yeah, not happy with the cal costs!
But it's that or the UMed, which is the size and weight of a small family hatchback, and I'm guessing if you used the manufacturer for cal, then that would also cost the same as the previously mentioned hatchback.
So looks like we're gonna have to suck it up...

I've just emailed you through the site, not sure what address you've used to register though.
Do any units with multiple meters just send one off periodically for calibration and verify the others against it as a way of reducing costs? Or use certificated test solutions for conductivity as the Umed needs at six months?

Thank you for your comments on the IBP Dialysis reference meters. As you are aware the IBP meters measure parameters at a lower resolution than competitor meters. This is part of the reason why the costs to verify and calibrate IBP meters is more than general calibration houses that cannot measure down to such low resolutions and cant calibrate the meters either, often sending them to LINC-Medical to calibrate and repair, costing the customer more in time and money.
It takes approximately 7 hours to verify an IBP meter and 10 hours to calibrate it (if not more dependent on the number of adjustments), plus 3 hours administration time including incoming documentations, cleaning of the meters, making/producing certification for the meters, electrical safety test along with making of the certificate, packaging of the meters for return. Plus, the cost to calibrate and purchase our reference system. I am sure this compares quite reasonably to external service visits from Dialysis machine suppliers.
LINC-Medical systems are the authorised distributor and calibration / repairer of IBP instruments in the UK, and now for verification of Mesa meters. No other company has been trained and certified to verify, calibrate, and repair IBP meters in the UK.
As you are aware one of the main reasons that customers buy IBP meters is their ability to accurately measure parameters to a very low resolution to ensure your Dialysis machines are delivering the prescribed Dialysis treatment for the patient.
Comparing a recent verified / calibrated instrument against other instruments to see if they need calibrating, would I suggest not meet any quality assurance standards in such a highly regulated environment such as Renal Dialysis where we know you all work to very high standards.
